Tonight, the Forney Planning & Zoning Commission will once again consider amending the “density” requirements in regard to the Gateway development project.
Hunt property developers do not feel that the intent of the Planned Development agreement was to limit density of multi-family dwellings and have requested the density requirement be amended.
The language under consideration references Section 24.4 of the Zoning Ordinance, which requires a lot area requirement of 2,000 square feet per dwelling unit, which places a limit on the cluster densities of the multi-family units.
In addition, an amendment is proposed to the 5,000 unit cap on “multi-family” dwellings.
The proposed amendment is to maintain a maximum 5,000 residential units, including a maximum of 3,200 multi-family units.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will begin at 6:30 pm at Forney City Hall, and is freely open to the public.
