On Saturday the United Methodist Women (UMW), who serve the First United Methodist Church in Forney, held their annual charity bazaar and this year event organizers topped off the month long fundraiser with a Sunday morning Thanksgiving Breakfast and Live Auction.
A community inspired event that is annually held in November, the ladies of the UMW cleverly organized this year’s fundraiser as a “Bazaar Weekend”, and their hard work and ingenuity paid off big with the collection of $8,400 in support of several charities supported by FUMC.
The ladies sold raffle tickets throughout the month of November for chances to win items including a beautiful handmade quilt, a big screen television, a gas patio heater, a gas patio grill, a kitchen aide, a huge filled garden wagon along with numerous gift cards and cash prizes.
After hosting the annual Craft Bazaar and Baked Sale on Saturday, the UMW finished out their fundraiser with a Sunday morning Thanksgiving Breakfast Buffet, where numerous families enjoyed a homemade breakfast buffet which included at least ten different kinds of eggs, pancakes, biscuits, fresh fruit and muffins.
