Spend President's Day weekend at the most beautiful place in Dallas and one of the "five perfect places for a picnic in DFW," according to GuideLive.
The Dallas Arboretum offers live music, beer samples, $2 hot dogs, $2 cherry pies at the Terrace Cafe, and $5 general garden admission. In honor of President's Day and an all-American weekend active and retired military, along with first responders, receive free admission, February 16-18 (with proper identification at the gate).
Dave Forehand, Dallas Arboretum's vice president of gardens, said, "February is a beautiful time at the Arboretum, and the quality of the garden and landscape design shows off well year-round. With the warmer temperatures this month, guests can get a sneak peek at the glory of Dallas Blooms festival, presented by IBERIABANK, which opens on February 23."
Saturday, February 16 through Monday, February 18, enjoy face painting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Pecan Grove. On Saturday, enjoy beer samples with Peticolas Brewing Company from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. in Val Late Garden, and live music with alternative country band, The Gibbonses, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn.
Enjoy Emerald City All Stars band performing live on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday. On Monday, from 2-4 p.m., jam out to classic rock band, Rushmore Band on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn. Guests can enjoy the beauty of the garden as it begins to unfold with early spring blooms, such as daffodils, hyacinths and early tulips.
